Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

At Sasin, Corporate Social Responsibility is more than a trendy catch-phrase. It is at the very center of Sasin’s Core Values: “Teamwork and leadership guided by wisdom, integrity and social responsibility”. It is also among our fundamental learning objectives: “Corporate ethics, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability”.

Sasin’s dedication to grooming future leaders goes hand-in-hand with our pioneering role in Southeast Asia in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility, a rapidly emerging area of intense interest around the world. The CSR principle is having corporations recognize, accept and embrace their responsibilities to the communities that sustain them and, in the process, create a new partnership where social, environmental, and economic balances can be struck.  In short, CSR is simultaneously good for business.

Sasin uses its considerable academic prowess to facilitate education in CSR.  This includes a course for MBAs, public seminars and conferences by invited guests and Sasin professors, academic research in the CSR field, collaboration with profit and non-profit organizations in socially-beneficial projects, and stocking our library with world-class CSR publications.

Sasin continues to play a valuable coordination role, such as providing facilities for holding meetings, seminars, and competitions. Our Sasa Patasala building serves as a frequent venue for Social Venture Network Asia (Thailand) meets as well as the regular venue for SIFE (Student In Free Enterprise) Thailand since 2006.

Sasin is the home of the Net Impact Bangkok Professional Chapter and Sasin Net Impact Student Chapter. Net Impact, with over 10,000 members affiliated to 150 student and professional chapters on six continents in 90 cities and in over 100 of the world’s leading graduate schools, is a society of CSR professionals, students, and concerned citizens.  Their mission is to improve the world by growing and strengthening a network of new leaders who are using the power of business to make a positive net social, environmental, and economic impact.

The recently-formed Sasin Net Impact Student Chapter is the first, and only, student-led CSR organization in existence in Thailand. For more information on the Sasin Net Impact Student Chapter, please contact: netimpact@sasin.edu.
