On 1 October 2011, the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration established the Sasin Centre for Sustainability Management (SCSM), a collaboration between Sasin and the Corporate Responsibility & Ethics Association for Thai Enterprise (CREATE).
At Sasin, corporate responsibility is more than a trendy catch-phrase. It is at the very centre of Sasin’s Core Values: “Teamwork and leadership guided by wisdom, integrity and social responsibility.” It is also among our fundamental learning objectives.
Sasin is dedicated to grooming future leaders in the area of sustainability management, a rapidly emerging area of interest around the world. Combining the principles of sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, and HM King Bhumibol’s Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, sustainability management addresses the importance of all stakeholders to the long-term success of a business. Among other things, SCSM emphasises the importance of partnerships that work toward social, environmental, and economic balance.
The mission of the Centre is
To disseminate, facilitate, and advise on strategies inspired by the principles of sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, and the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy among the private sector, academic institutions, the public sector, civil society, and the student body;
To mobilize resources in Thailand and abroad to support research in the fields of sufficiency economy, sustainable development, and responsible business practices in Thailand and in Asia;
To promote supporters and practitioners of sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, and the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy through various activities at the community and national level.
