Q49: I am still an undergraduate student. Do you have any advice about what I can do to increase my chances of admission?
A49: There is no common set of guidelines for entering MBA programs. You may wish to check out the web sites of particular schools that interest you. At Sasin, we generally request that a candidate have a minimum of one year of work experience. In terms of course work, the stronger your quantitative background, the better prepared you should be to take accounting, finance, statistics, and other quantitative courses offered in the curriculum. We are also interested in your extra-curricular activities at the undergraduate level and beyond.

Q51: I don't do well on standardized tests, but I notice that a lot of business schools report very high average GMAT scores. Should I bother applying?
A51: First of all, keep in mind that those are average scores derived from a range of scores. Second, the GMAT is only a part of the evaluation process, although a very important one. If other parts of your application, such as academic performance, work experience, extracurricular/leadership activities, recommendations, and essays are very strong, do not let your GMAT scores discourage you.

A52: There are three criteria for admission: intellectual ability, leadership potential, and personal qualities. For more details, please refer to our admissions criteria.

Q53: What is weighted most heavily in the admission evaluation process?
A53: This varies from school to school. At Sasin, every part of your application is important. Each part has an equal weight when reviewing an individual file or when comparing one applicant to another. We do not admit students based upon a formula, and admission is not about admitting candidates with the highest numbers.
