Fines

  • Overdue fines must be paid immediately when the Library materials are returned.
  • Overdue materials or a total of unpaid fines over Baht 250 for students and Baht 500 for faculty and staff will result in suspension of Library borrowing privileges.
  • Students who do not clear their record will not receive grades, transcripts, or diplomas, and will not be able to register or to graduate.
Returns
  • Materials are to be returned to the Library from which they were checked out.
  • Materials returned to Prajadhipok-Rambhai Barni Library after office hours can be left in a book drop located at the entrance outside the Library.
  • To ensure that the Library receives the book(s) you have returned in the book drop or to check if any overdue fines have been incurred, we suggest that on the next day, you check your circulation record in Chulalinet (option: View Your Own Library Record) or call the Library (Tel. 02 218-4085). The overdue fine must be paid within the next day. Unpaid fines will result in suspension of your Library borrowing privileges.
Renewals
  • Library materials may be renewed only once by the same borrower unless reserved by another patron.
  • Renewals can be made both in person and by telephone.
Holds
A patron can request the Library staff to place a hold on an item checked out to another. The Library will hold the item for the requestor for seven days upon its return.
Recalls
All Library materials may be recalled from any borrower at any time. Failure to return materials by the date indicated on the recall notice will result in an overdue fine.

Lost or Damaged Materials

  • Damaged materials are charged at cost of the restoration plus a 50 Baht processing fee.
  • Lost or damaged beyond repair materials are charged at list price plus a 150 Baht processing fee. If the list price is not available, Baht 350 is charged for local materials and Baht 2,750 for foreign materials plus a 150 Baht processing fee.
  • Lost Library materials must be reported immediately. For patrons who are liable to overdue fines, such fine will be calculated from the date due to the date when the materials are reported lost.
  • Any Library material that is overdue more than 60 days will be considered lost.
  • If, after having been declared lost, library materials are returned to the Library, an overdue fine will be assessed from the original due date to the date when the material is returned, plus a Baht 50 processing charge.
  • Fees and other charges for lost or damaged Library materials are the responsibility of the person who returns them.
  • The patron will be required to replace the same title or material that is lost, or to provide a suitable substitute as approved by the librarian-in-charge. This must be done within the period stipulated by the librarian-in-charge.
  • Long overdue Library materials or a total of unpaid charges over 250 Baht for students and 500 Baht for staff and faculty members will result in suspension of Library borrowing privileges.
  • Grades, transcripts and diplomas will not be issued to students who fail to clear their Library accounts.

  • Sasin students, faculty and staff must present their valid Sasin identification cards which also serve as their Library cards when borrowing Library materials.
  • Chulalongkorn University members must present their valid Chulalinet card when borrowing Library materials.
