The financial environment is changing rapidly, and financial communications are becoming increasingly complex. This course will simplify the financial world for you by providing you with a solid understanding of the way finance people think and the vocabulary they use.
Participants at this seminar will learn to:
- Understand the financial implications of their strategic and operational decisions.
- Make resource acquisition and allocation decisions in ways that create value.
- Use financial information to become more productive in their functional areas.
- Communicate better with the firm's financial managers.
- Read and understand financial statements.
- Evaluate the financial strengths and weaknesses of a company through financial analysis.
- Understand how financial decisions such as capital budgeting and resource allocation fit into corporate strategy.
- Understand the use of contribution margin analysis and other planning and decision making tools.
- Comprehend the link between activity-based management and value creation.
- Understand how managing the corporate value chain affects corporate profitability.
Managers at any level whose background is not in finance, particularly those in areas such as marketing, sales, engineering, or manufacturing. No prior in-depth knowledge of accounting or finance is necessary. The program is directed towards users of financial information rather than those who prepare and disseminate it.

He has taught in several MBA and executive programs in North and South America, Europe and Asia, in addition to being an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK). He holds a master degree from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Business from Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Dr. Nagarajan has published extensively in the leading research journals, in addition to being a past member of the editorial board of The Accounting Review and the Journal of Management Accounting Research and past associate editor of the Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance.

He is the Head of Finance Group at Sasin. He received his Ph.D. in Finance and Insurance from the University of Rhode Island. He has extensive experience in conducting workshops for organizational clients (e.g., Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lowe Lintas and Partners, Ford Motors (Thailand), and the Nation Group). He also has taught in several MBA and executive programs in the US and in Asia. Dr. Piman is the most prolific financial researcher in Thailand with academic publications in a wide range of reputable international journals, such as the Journal of Accounting and Economics, the Journal of Risk and Insurance, and the Journal of Financial Markets. He has also served as a consultant for the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.
Fee & Payment
- Payment
The non-refundable registration fee of Baht 45,000 per person includes course materials, meals and refreshments. A crossed cheque payable to SASIN should accompany this registration form. We can only confirm your registration after your fees are received and cleared.
Registration fee is corporate income tax deductible under the Royal Decree issued under the Revenue Code Governing Exemption of Taxes and Duties (No. 437) B.E. 2548 (2005).
- Cancellation Policy
Cancellation penalties will be charged using the following guidelines:
There will be no cancellation charge for registrants canceling twenty (20) or more business days prior to the scheduled date. Participants who cancel less than twenty (20) business days but more than ten (10) business days prior to the scheduled training date will be charged 25% of the course fees. Course cancellations ten (10) or less business days but more than five (5) business days prior to the scheduled training date will be charged 50% of the course.
Course cancellations made five (5) business days or less of the scheduled training date will be charged 100% of the course price. No-shows will be charged 100% of the registration fee.
All cancellations must be sent in writing via mail, fax, or e-mail.
Sasin reserves the right to cancel any scheduled courses due to low registrations, or for any other reason, without financial obligation. Should that become necessary, Sasin will notify registrants at least one week prior to the start day.
