On July 11, 2012, Mr. Pongpat Jirangpitakkul , Founder and CEO of Me Design and I Co., Ltd., was a guest speaker in Dr . Sabin Srivannaboon’s MBA Project Management class and spoke on the topic “Crisis Management in Project Management: Cases from the 2010 Political Turmoil and the Great Flood of 2011 in Thailand”. He shared his experiences of how his company, Me Design and I Co., Ltd., which is a small design/construction firm, was affected by a number of national crises, including the 2010 political turmoil and the great flood of 2011. During the session, Mr. Jirangpitakkul elaborated on the company’s direct experience in surviving the unthinkable through crisis and project management and addressed various strategies employed by other companies during the same crises, examining both successful and failed approaches.
On July 13, 2012, Mr. Kamolsut Dabbaransi, Vice President for Business Development at SCB Securities Co., Ltd., and Founder and CEO of MUGENDAI Co., Ltd., was a guest speaker and spoke about “Project MUGENDAI 101” , which is his high-end, 120 seat Japanese restaurant that became a CNN and Thailand Tatler award-winning venue. MUGENDAI has become a “must-visit” Bangkok dining venue over the past year, not only among local starlets and celebrities, but also for a few Oscar-nominated actresses. This session emphasized winning strategies for current and /or future small to medium business owners, with a focus on the project management aspects of the business.
