Network Optimization to Improve Accessibility in Bangkok
By Assistant Professor Stefano Starita, Ph.D. Faculty, Sasin School of Management Friday August 19, 2022, 12:00 -13:00 pm. Venue: Room 201, Sasin School of Management. Please register here to reserve your seat. Summary: This research aims to improve accessibility to critical services (e.g., schools and hospitals) by increasing the extent of walkable paths in Bangkok. Roads in Bangkok are often designed for cars, not people. Unsafe and overhead crossings, lack of sidewalks and many other architectural barriers significantly limit the movement of people, affecting in particular those with disabilities. Assuming a limited budget to improve walkability, a network optimization model is introduced to identify where to distribute the resources so that accessibility is maximized.   For more information please contact Khun Nanthapak Pinyo at 091 479 4551, 02 218 4036 or researchseminar@sasin.edu.
