Activities usually include:- Orientation: includes dinners with prominent CEOs and a hands-on sustainability workshop that focuses on practical applications of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in Southeast Asia and beyond. There is also an alumni panel to advise you on how to make the most of your opportunities at Sasin, and some top business leaders speaking about contemporary business issues,
- Get-Away Visit: with ice-breaking and group forming activities,
- Short preparatory courses to make sure you’re up to speed in the basics of Math, Statistics, and Accounting.
Required Courses
The first modules of your program focus primarily on the required courses. These prepare you for the more individually-tailored curriculum of subsequent modules, which will be driven by your desired choice of electives. The core curriculum emphasizes the deepening and systematization of your management skills and provides the foundation for your Flexible MBA program. You must complete the following required courses before advancing to subsequent modules. After completing these required courses, you may also change your rate of progress by deciding to take one course per module (often called part-time) or two courses per module (often called full-time). Or you may choose to ask permission to further accelerate to turbo and take more than two courses per module. Requests to change your rate of progress should be made to the Office of the Registrar at registrar@sasin.edu. Required courses are:- Accounting for Decision Making
- Business Strategy
- Digital Transformation: Emerging Technologies & Strategies

- Entrepreneurial Management
- Financial Management

All MBA students must take at least one Action Learning Lab. We offer several types of Action Learning Labs. You choose the type that best fits your interests. You can take more than one if you wish.
Initially, the Action Lab requirement will be satisfied by successfully completing any of the following:
- Sasin-MIT Action Learning Lab: If you want to go into consulting or work on practical projects in a specific industry, you might choose this as your Action Learning Lab.
- Sasin-China Lab: Work with MBA students from the Fudan School of Management or Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (Tsinghua SEM) on real client projects.
- Sustainability Lab: If you are interested in sustainability management you will want to choose this as your Action Learning Lab and work on real sustainability problems, with real businesses.
- New Ventures Lab: If you are interested in creating your own start-up, you may wish to take the New Ventures Lab
It’s practical, hands-on, teamwork!
All Action Learning requirements will involve some common elements, designed to reinforce Transformative Action Learning. All Action Learning Labs will involve:- students working in teams,
- to solve real-world business problems. These practical problems might come from existing business (in the case of GIM for example), or from problems students themselves identify and choose to solve (in the case of start-up business plans for example).
- mentored by a resource team of faculty, usually assisted by specialized professionals (who will often be Sasin alumni).
- Over a sustained period
- Action Learning Labs will normally span several modules. The regular four-week module will usually not give sufficient time for an Action Learning Lab.
Sasin offers many experiences beyond the classroom. In addition to international opportunities, these include:
- taking part in local, regional and global startup competitions (e.g. SCBFLC)
- helping organize Sasin’s own Bangkok Business Challenge (Asia’s longest-running global startup competition)
- attending presentations by noted speakers and renowned global leaders
- participating in Sasin’s ever-changing array of clubs, sports, and networking activities.
If you choose not to go on exchange, you may wish to participate in Sasin’s Internships in Management Program.
When you’ve successfully completed your first 9 required courses on the Flexible MBA program, if you don’t choose to take advantage of one of Sasin’s international opportunities, you may wish to participate in the Sasin Internship in Management Program.
Internships provide intensive on-the-job training and hands-on experience with well-known organizations for about two months to help develop your managerial skills and applied knowledge of the real business world.
Internships usually begin in early March, but candidates should ask about available positions in October of the preceding year.
