Priming, Probing, Promoting: Facilitating Leaders to Innovate Through Design Thinking
By: Associate Professor Ari Margiono, Ph.D. Facutly at BINUS Business School, BINUS University How can design thinking help leaders innovate and improve corporate performance under uncertainty? This talk draws on qualitative research in an Indonesian MBA course, identifying three adaptive facilitation practices: priming establishes direction, probing challenges assumptions, and promoting encourages ownership. The findings provide a foundation for investigating leadership development beyond the classroom. Building on this work, a proposed measurement initiative will develop and validate quantitative measures of adaptive scaffolding. Future studies will examine relationships between these practices, leaders’ innovation capabilities, and corporate performance. Date: Friday, November 27, 2026 Time: 12.00-13.00 (Bangkok Time) Venue: Room 201 at Sasin School of Management or online via Zoom Register here to reserve your seat   For more information please contact +66-2218-4000 ext. 84095 or [email protected].
