A research article titled “Morally Controversial Consumption: The Case of Sex Workers and Their Clients” by Sasin’s Assistant Professor, Dr. Yupin Patarapongsant, Head of Behavioral Research and Informatics in Social Sciences Research Unit (co-written with Dr. Tanyatip Kharuhayothin, Assistant Professor and Dean of the School of Business and Communication Arts at the University of Phayao) has been published in Social Sciences & Humanities Open, Scopus Q1.
The research examines morally controversial consumption through the case of sex workers and their clients. This study investigates the moral emotions of shame and guilt, as well as moral disengagement, in illegal sexual consumption among sex workers and their clients in Thailand.
The study offers evidence that supports public policy implications, challenging the current stage of efforts to improve the dignity and morale of those working in this profession.
