Sasin DBA Student Publishes Research on Blockchain Business Models in Digital Business

Sasin congratulates Kelvin Lam (Sasin DBA 2021), CEO of TukTuk One, on the publication of his research paper, “Understanding the Business Model of Blockchain Games through the Lens of a Blockchain Business Model Canvas,” in Digital Business (Volume 6, Issue 2, December 2026). The paper introduces the Blockchain Business Model Canvas (BBMC), a new analytical framework that explains how blockchain gaming ecosystems create, deliver, and capture value through community participation, token-based systems, and decentralized governance. Unlike traditional business model frameworks, the BBMC reflects the collaborative nature of blockchain ecosystems. Based on sixteen semi-structured interviews with team members, players, investors, and ecosystem partners, the research proposes a framework that captures circular value flows and varying levels of community participation, providing a valuable reference for researchers and practitioners studying blockchain gaming and other token-native digital ecosystems.
