Sasin's Take on Building Inclusive Business Schools

On February 23, 2022, Sasin School of Management joined representatives from several schools across the Asia Pacific region to discuss in the 2022 DEIB Asia Pacific Forum, hosted by AACSB International. In a keynote presentation: “Defining Inclusion and Contextualizing Knowledge”, Sasin’s Director Professor Ian Fenwick, Sasin’s Faculty Dr. Drew Mallory, Expert Advisor on Inclusion Policy, and Lailani Laynesa Alcantara, MD Centre for Inclusion Leadership and Dean at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, discussed the opportunities and challenges of building inclusive schools the Asia Pacific region. The discussion is a unique glimpse into what Sasin and other schools are doing to address their own local inclusion foci. It also highlights the need for closer collaboration in the Asia Pacific region. Participants called for greater knowledge sharing and highlighted the need to adapt inclusion strategies to the local context–or build them from the ground up.
