The Sasin Connect+ Executive MBA continued its journey across Southeast Asia with its second residential in Bali, Indonesia—an immersive experience blending leadership, culture, sustainability, and community collaboration.
In partnership with Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), students explored Indonesian leadership values, cultural wisdom, and the philosophy of Gotong Royong (mutual cooperation). They engaged with ParagonCorp in a keynote on “Passions, Poisons, and Possibilities,” and tackled case study workshops with EcoBali Waste Management & Recycling, challenging them to rethink leadership, purpose, and impact in one of Southeast Asia’s largest economies. At EcoTourism Bali, students confronted the threats facing the island’s mangrove ecosystems—critical to a tourism-dependent economy—and learned how sustainable business models, certifications, and community-led action can protect these vital resources. Guided by Gotong Royong, local villagers demonstrated how collective effort builds resilience and safeguards the future.
The residential also offered a deeper connection to Bali’s cultural and spiritual heritage. From the Sacred Monkey Forest to the Ubud Water Palace, They experienced Tri Hita Karana, the Balinese philosophy of harmony between people, nature, and spirituality. A traditional dance performance illustrated how sacred devotion can also sustain livelihoods, fueling both cultural preservation and economic vitality. These experiences invited students to reflect on their own passions—how to sustain energy, creativity, and purpose in the routines of leadership and business.
The residential concluded with reflection and future intentions. Students revisited their goals through the lens of Tri Hita Karana, integrating lessons from Bali’s culture, nature, and community into their personal and professional aspirations. A closing community-sharing session, inspired by Gotong Royong, left students with renewed vision, stronger connections, and a deeper sense of purpose to carry forward.
