On June 27, 2025, during the Executive Board Meeting held in conjunction with the 2025 Annual Conference at Kanazawa University, Professor Takamasa Fujioka, Advisor to the Sasin Japan Center, affiliated with Sasin Management Consulting, was re-elected as President of the Japan Academy for Asian Market Economies (JAFAME). This marks the continuation of his leadership as the academy’s 13th President, reaffirming the trust placed in his vision and direction.
Established in 1997, JAFAME promotes historical, theoretical, and empirical research on Asian markets. The academy serves as a key platform for cross-institutional and interdisciplinary collaboration, contributing to deeper understanding and development of regional and global economies.
As of 2025, JAFAME includes over 200 members—an active network of scholars and professionals in economics, marketing and distribution studies, and business administration. The academy is recognized for its academic contributions and long-standing partnerships, notably with the Science Council of Japan’s Cooperative Academic Research Group and the Union of National Economic Associations in Japan, both since 2007.
Professor Fujioka’s re-election is expected to further enhance JAFAME’s role as a leading academic forum for advancing knowledge on Asian market economies.
