Tsubasa Alliance Forum Strengthens Japan–Taiwan–Thailand Business Collaboration at Sasin
24 February 2026

On February 20, 2026, the Sasin Management Consulting Japan Center co-hosted a Business Seminar & Networking Event at Sasin Hall, Sasin School of Management, in collaboration with the Tsubasa Alliance — a consortium of ten major regional banks in Japan with total deposits of approximately JPY 100 trillion.
Held annually for the Alliance’s client companies operating in Thailand, the event aims to deepen Japanese executives’ understanding of the Thai business landscape while strengthening networks among Japanese firms in the region.
This year marked a significant milestone. For the first time, Taiwanese and Thai companies joined their Japanese counterparts, transforming the seminar into a dynamic international platform connecting business leaders across Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand.
The program opened with welcoming remarks by Mr. Nobukazu Odaka, Senior Executive Officer of Chiba Bank Co., Ltd. Professor Takamasa Fujioka, PhD — Advisor to the Sasin Japan Center and Professor at Meiji Professional Graduate School — delivered a keynote address on “Japanese Corporate Management in the Age of Geopolitics.” Against a backdrop of rising global uncertainty, he offered strategic perspectives on how Japanese companies can navigate geopolitical risks and reinforce their long-term presence in Asia.
Representing the Taiwanese business community, Vice Chairman Mr. Johnny Wu of the Thai-Taiwan Business Association shared insights into the development and future outlook of Taiwanese enterprises in Thailand. This was followed by a presentation from Mr. Sozo Yamamoto of the Technology Promotion Association Thailand-Japan (TPA), who highlighted the association’s initiatives and potential areas for collaboration with Japanese firms.
The evening concluded with a networking reception attended by distinguished guests, including Mr. Stephen Chen, President of TTBA; Ms. Mia Liang, Director of TAITRA; and Ms. Makiko Yamazaki, Vice President of Japan External Trade Organization. In a warm and engaging atmosphere, participants exchanged ideas and explored partnership opportunities, fostering new connections across the three economies. Closing remarks were delivered by Mr. Yoshio Watanabe, Director of Daishi Hokuetsu Bank Co., Ltd.
The event welcomed approximately 200 participants, including 97 Japanese companies — ranging from listed corporations to SMEs — alongside 10 Taiwanese and 11 Thai companies, including major firms such as Delta Electronics and PTT. Several Sasin alumni were also in attendance, further reinforcing the school’s growing cross-border business network.
More than a seminar, the gathering served as a catalyst for deeper Japan–Taiwan–Thailand collaboration. The Sasin Management Consulting Japan Center remains committed to advancing cross-border partnerships and driving value creation across Asia.
