Associate Professor Piyachart Phiromswad obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Davis, CA, USA. He is currently a faculty member in Finance at Sasin School of Management. Dr. Piyachart was invited to be one of the speakers at TED2023, where he talked about how to unlock the power of population aging. He is also one of the winners of the TED Idea Search: Southeast Asia 2022. Dr. Piyachart Phiromswad’s research interests are related to four types of inevitable disruptions, including: i) Demographic disruption (focusing on the third demographic dividend) ii) Digital disruption (focusing on understanding emerging technology acceptance) iii) Economic disruption (focusing on business cycle management) iv) Environmental disruption. In addition to these, Dr. Piyachart has also worked on behavioral economics, causal search algorithms, monetary economics, and economic growth.
