Logistics Seminar at Sasin Explores Cross-Border Innovation Between Thailand and Japan

A high-level logistics seminar was held at the Sasin School of Management on May 21, 2025, jointly organized by APT, Sasin Management Consulting (SMC)/Sasin Japan Center (SJC), Go Beyond Asia, ABeam Consulting, and Sigmaxyz. The seminar focused on innovative strategies to enhance and streamline logistics in Thailand, drawing insights from both the Thai and Japanese contexts. The event brought together leading logistics experts and consultants driving transformation in both countries. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Takamasa Fujioka, Advisor to the Sasin Japan Center and Professor at Meiji Business School, who provided strategic insights into Thailand’s logistics landscape from a management perspective. A series of presentations followed:
  • Mr. Shingo Goto, Director of ABeam Consulting (Thailand) Ltd., discussed the current state and challenges of the logistics industry in Thailand.
  • Mr. Yuichiro Ikeda, Director at Sigmaxyz Co., Ltd., offered a perspective on Japan’s logistics innovations and practices.
  • Mr. Yuto Kurihara, Director of APT Co., Ltd., presented a compelling case study from the field.
The seminar concluded with a dynamic panel discussion moderated by Mr. Tomohiro Okada, Sasin alumnus and Managing Partner of Go Beyond Asia Co., Ltd., featuring all speakers. The session sparked engaging dialogue on shared challenges and opportunities for cross-border collaboration in the logistics sector. Following the formal program, participants continued exchanging ideas, highlighting a strong interest in future cooperation and knowledge sharing. The seminar served as a valuable platform for fostering dialogue between Thailand and Japan, emphasizing the potential for joint solutions to common logistics challenges. Attendees included Japanese Executive MBA students, Sasin MBA alumni, senior executives from major Japanese corporations (including Hitachi Asia, Sumitomo Corporation, and Yusen Logistics), and small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) owners.
