Meet Our New Faculty: Dr. Juthawan Karnasuta-Thongborisute
Sasin welcomes Dr. Juthawan Karnasuta-Thongborisute as our newest Lecturer, with expertise in the platform economy and strategy. Dr. Juthawan holds a doctorate degree in Management Science (Doctorat en Sciences de Gestion) from ESCP Business School and the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. She also holds an MBA from UC Irvine Paul Merage School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree in International Economics, Management and Finance from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. Her teaching portfolio includes Business Strategy, Organization and Management, and Special Topic in Management: Platform Strategy, Markets, Competition, and the Digital Economy. As a strategic management scholar, her research connects platform strategy to broader questions of platform governance, digital trade, and national sovereignty. Her doctoral research examined how demand-side heterogeneity shapes platform growth and competitive dynamics in digital ecosystems. She now studies digital platforms as economic and trade infrastructure, asking whether their global diffusion expands market access and drives competition, deepens trade interdependence, or reshapes the conditions for innovation capacity, technological autonomy, and economic resilience. Prior to pursuing her doctorate, Dr. Juthawan was a General Manager in Digital Services at Maximage Group and a Senior Consultant in Advisory Services at Ernst & Young. She also held a Summer Associate role in Global Consumer Banking at Citi. Dr. Juthawan’s combination of strategic industry experience and internationally grounded research makes her a valuable addition to Sasin’s growing faculty in digital business and platform economics.
