Statement on Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access to Learning at Sasin (IDEALS)

At Sasin School of Management, we believe that the diversity within our community strengthens our creative abilities, promotes positive change, and enriches campus life. We offer this statement on Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access to Learning at Sasin (IDEALS) as a declaration of our commitment to realizing these beliefs. Sasin values the rights, dignity, voice, and worth of all those who participate in the educational mission of the School. We strive to promote inclusive, fair, and equitable treatment for all. We also strive to recognize and remediate barriers toward any groups impacted disproportionally by diversity, equity, and inclusion. We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or abuse of any kind against others, including mistreatment based on age, race, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual and gender identity or expression, neurodivergence, socioeconomic status, religious or spiritual orientation, pregnancy, medical or disability status, language ability, national origin, or other areas of human functioning. This declaration pertains to our students and employees of all levels and extends to visitors, partners, and other members of the Sasin community. Our efforts toward inclusive and equitable treatment of all members of our community is a continual process to which we welcome feedback. Anyone may contribute feedback this, or directly to members of the acting IDEALS Team, currently overseeing the implementation of the IDEALS Declaration. Sasin plans upholds this declaration using two metrics: (1) Direct measures added to all student and employees’ performance evaluations for engagement in and support of IDEALS; and (2) localized and global metrics added to the organization’s annual evaluation of success in upholding a climate supportive of IDEALS. Sasin is also developing several reporting mechanisms, which we plan to use to voice both successes and struggles we face in support of IDEALS, reviewed annually in cooperation with Sasin’s top leadership team, the acting IDEALS Team, and input from the community. We expect and encourage all members of the Sasin community to aid in decision-making and implementation of IDEALS, as an inclusive climate is our collective responsibility. Sanctions for violation of the IDEALS declaration can include up to the loss of position and/or removal from the school. The IDEALS Declaration is enacted while upholding all existing policies and acting in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
