Borrowing and Circulation
With a Sasin ID Card, faculty members, staff and students can borrow books from Prajadhipok-Rambhai Barni Library as well as the other libraries in the Chulalinet system.Reference Service
Library staff can help users find information for their research topics through library resources. Teaching how to find resources can also be arranged upon request.Book Delivery Service within the University
Sasin faculty members, students, and staff who want to borrow books from Chulalinet library members can make a delivery request online via the option “Chulalinet’s Book Delivery Request” available in the library catalog. Please note the following:- Only books are available for delivery requests. Some books may be restricted to “Library Use Only” and are not available for loan;
- Up to 3 books can be requested at one time;
- The service runs once a day. An e-mail will be sent to notify the requester of the status of his/her request;
- Requested books are usually available for pick up within 2 days.
Interlibrary Loan Service
If books or articles are located in libraries of other universities, the library will issue an interlibrary loan form to borrow books or send requests for articles from the other libraries.Printing Service
Students can print documents from computers connected to Sasin’s LAN and WiFi network. The cost for B/W printing is one baht per page and five baht per page for color printing. A deposit for printing accounts can be made at the library’s circulation desk.Reading Space
Prajadhipok-Rambhai Barni Library provides quiet reading space with a capacity of 100 seats.Library General Rules
- Smoking, eating, and drinking are not permitted in the Library; bringing food and drinks and/or using cellular phones in the Library is also not permitted;
- Conversation, noise and other forms of disturbance should be kept to a minimum in all areas of the library;
- Library materials may not be removed from the library until they have been processed and issued on loan by the library staff;
- When leaving the library, users are required to show all books for inspection at the Circulation Desk.
- Sasin students, faculty and staff must present their valid Sasin identification cards which also serve as their library cards when borrowing library materials.
- Chulalongkorn University members must present their valid Chulalinet card when borrowing library materials.
Loan Period, Overdue Fines and Circulation Rules

Fines
- Overdue fines must be paid immediately when the library materials are returned;
- Overdue materials or a total of unpaid fines over 250 baht for students and 500 baht for faculty and staff will result in the suspension of library borrowing privileges;
- Students who do not clear their record will not receive grades, transcripts, or diplomas, and will not be able to register or to graduate.
Returns
- Materials are to be returned to the library from which they were checked out;
- Materials returned to Prajadhipok-Rambhai Barni Library after office hours can be left in a book drop located at the entrance outside the library.
- To ensure that the library receives the book(s) you have returned in the book drop or to check if any overdue fines have been incurred, we suggest that on the next day, you check your circulation record in Chulalinet (option: View Your Own Library Record) or call the Library (Tel. 02 218-4085). The overdue fine must be paid within the next day. Unpaid fines will result in the suspension of your library borrowing privileges.
Renewals
- Library materials may be renewed only once by the same borrower unless reserved by another patron.
- Renewals can be made both in person and by telephone.
Recalls/Holds
A patron can request the library staff to place a hold on an item checked out to another. The library will hold the item for the requestor for seven days upon its return. All library materials may be recalled from any borrower at any time. Failure to return materials by the date indicated on the recall notice will result in an overdue fine.Lost or Damaged Materials
- Damaged materials are charged at the cost of the restoration plus a 50 baht processing fee.
- Materials that are lost or damaged beyond repair are charged at list price plus a 150 baht processing fee. If the list price is not available, 350 baht is charged for local materials and 2,750 baht for international materials plus a 150 baht processing fee.
- Lost library materials must be reported immediately. For patrons who are liable for overdue fines, the fine will be calculated from the date due to the date when the materials are reported lost.
- Any library material that is overdue for more than 60 days will be considered lost.
- If, after having been declared lost, materials are returned to the library, an overdue fine will be assessed from the original due date to the date when the material is returned, plus a 50 baht processing charge.
- Fees and other charges for lost or damaged library materials are the responsibility of the person who returns them.
- The patron will be required to replace the same title or material that is lost, or to provide a suitable substitute as approved by the librarian-in-charge. This must be done within the period stipulated by the librarian-in-charge.
- Long overdue library materials or a total of unpaid charges over 250 baht for students and 500 baht for staff and faculty members will result in the suspension of library borrowing privileges.
- Grades, transcripts, and diplomas will not be issued to students who fail to clear their library accounts.

Many of these databases have strict Terms of Use requirements. All databases are made available to you under the terms of use. By accessing our databases you are accepting the Terms of Use. Compliance with these conditions is essential to ensure legal and ethical use of the resources. Violation of these terms of use might result in the withdrawal of access to the databases either for an identified non-compliant user or for the entire university community.- The subscribed databases are subject to copyright. They are licensed to Chulalongkorn University for non-profit academic research, learning and teaching purposes only.
- Users must not make the licensed resources available to unauthorized parties, whether they are individuals, private companies, public sector organizations or other entities.
- Users may print, e-mail, download, or save the electronic content in terms that comply with the provisions of the Copyright Act and the terms of relevant license agreements.
- Users agree to appropriately acknowledge the source of all materials used.
- Use of systematic downloading or copying, as well as gaining access to the databases bypassing the Publisher/ Service Provider software system are strictly prohibited.
Prajadhipok-Rambhai Barni Library offers library privileges to Sasin alumni.
Alumni and corporate members can borrow three items for 14 days and only materials held in Prajadhipok-Rambhai Barni Library’s general book collection can be borrowed. Please see Library regulations for more details.
Sasin Alumni Membership
To apply for membership, alumni must have:- payment of 300 baht for one year’s membership,
- payment of 2,000 baht for library material deposit fee which is refundable when membership ceases and after all outstanding fines or other charges incurred by damage to or non-return of library materials have been deducted. This fee will be forfeited where membership has lapsed for a six-month period.
