Innovating Elderly Care Through Technology
Sasin Showcase Series: Happy Sleeping Pad
Inspired by the challenges of Thailand’s super-aged society, where older adults account for more than 20% of the population, Worrakrit Wudhiphan (Sasin MBA 2025) set out to explore how technology could improve the quality of life for elderly patients and their caregivers. His research led to the development of the Happy Sleeping Pad, an IoT-based, multi-sensory intelligent device designed to monitor bedridden elderly patients. The project combines artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT) to support independent living, enhance geriatric care, and help reduce the workload of caregivers. In this interview, Worrakrit shares the inspiration behind his research, the journey of developing the Happy Sleeping Pad, and how his experience at Sasin helped shape his approach to innovation and problem-solving.
