Meet Our New Faculty Member: Professor Keith M. Fitzgerald
Meet Visiting Professor Keith M. Fitzgerald: Expert on Negotiation and Influence, Conflict Management, and Crisis Leadership We’re delighted to welcome Keith M. Fitzgerald, Founder and Managing Director of Sea-Change Partners. With more than three decades of experience as a teacher, trainer, advisor, and practitioner, Keith brings his expertise in Negotiation, Influence, Conflict Management, and Crisis Leadership to Sasin. Keith previously taught negotiation as Teaching Fellow at Harvard Law School and as adjunct faculty at INSEAD, and was a Visiting Lecturer at the National University of Singapore, where he taught International Negotiation and Conflict Management. He also held an adjunct lecturer position at Sasin, teaching Crisis Leadership and Crisis Management. Keith’s career spans strategic advisory roles with leading international organizations. He has served as a Conflict Advisor to the United Nations and the Asian Development Bank, advising the ADB, governments, and international donors on matters related to negotiation, conflict, and sustainable development. From 2002 to 2007, he was Head of the Asian Programme on Negotiation & Conflict Management (APNCM) at Singapore’s S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), where he also held the position of Senior Fellow at the Institute for Defence & Strategic Studies. From 1991 to 1999, Keith worked with Professor Roger Fisher, Author of “Getting to YES”, first as a research assistant and later as Special Assistant to the Director of the Harvard Negotiation Project. Keith also worked as a counter-terrorism analyst and is a member of the Council for Emerging National Security Affairs (CENSA) based in Washington, D.C., and an associate member of the Singapore Institute for International Affairs. He is the co-author of “Negotiating Hostage Crises with the New Terrorists” (Praeger, 2007). He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from John F. Kennedy School of Government (Harvard Kennedy School). As Keith writes on his website: “A pragmatist with a conscience, my primary goals in life are to be a good human being, make my life a net positive contribution to the world and those I’ve known.” Beyond academia, Keith is a martial artist with over twenty years of teaching experience and former championship titles, as well as a professional photographer. We look forward to the invaluable expertise and perspective Keith will bring to our students.
