The Sprint Batch 2 Demo Day was held recently at SCG’s Bangsue Headquarters. Nine startups pitched their business ideas to over 100 attendees, including investors, Sprint mentors, Sprint’s co-founders and partners, Batch 1 graduates, aspiring entrepreneurs, and the general public. Sprint Accelerator Thailand is an accelerator and incubator co-founded by SCG Chemicals, Houston Technology Center Asia, Sasin School of Management, KX and TCELS, which specializes in science and technology. The keynote speaker for the event was Ernest Xue, Head of Hello Tomorrow Singapore, who gave an engaging presentation on “Deep Technology: Commercializing Fundamental Science”. Each team pitched their startup for 5 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of Q&A from the judges. The experienced panel of judges included:

• Pahrada (Mameaw) Sapprasert (Director, 500 Startups)
• Robert Lomnitz (Director, Bangkok Venture Club)
• Sarayoot Eaimkhong (Senior Consultant, NSTDA)
• Ernest Xue (Head of Hello TomorrowSingapore)

After an extended period of deliberation, the judges selected the following winners:

• Joint Winners: 4Ds Project and Rehab Happy Walk. (THB 75,000 cash prize for each team)
• 2nd Runner-Up: MicroPatch (THB 30,000 cash prize)

The Demo Day concluded with a Networking Cocktail and Dinner. Congratulations to all of the startups that participated and to the winners!
